Project Description

The project is funded by the EU through the Recovery and Resilience Facility and is aimed at the partial renovation and modernization of the building and laboratory infrastructure of the Institute of Solid State Physics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (ISSP–BAS).

It is implemented under Component 2 “Research and Innovation” of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Republic of Bulgaria, investment C2.I2 – Strengthening the innovation capacity of BAS in the field of green and digital technologies. The main goal is to provide modern conditions for scientific and research activities that support the development of new products, technologies, and innovations with high added value.

The project covers:

  • construction and renovation works for laboratories, offices, and seminar rooms in the Central Building of ISSP–BAS;
  • improvement of the indoor microclimate and working conditions for researchers;
  • delivery and installation of new equipment, furnishings, and technological facilities;
  • ensuring an environment that meets modern standards for safety, sustainability, and operational efficiency.

Achieved Results

The project under Contract No. BG-RRP-2.014-0013-C02 was successfully completed within the planned deadlines. All scheduled construction and installation works and equipment deliveries were carried out, with the procurement procedures conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements.

The following rooms in the Central Building of ISSP–BAS were renovated and modernized: 101, 209, 219, 221, 224, 226, 301, 305, 306, 307, 309, 312, 316, 318, 320, and 329, as well as the main entrance foyer and corridors of the building.
