The path to innovation: modernization and renewal of the infrastructure of the Institute of Solid State Physics - BAS

The project proposal is aimed at the partial renovation and modernization of the IFTT-BAS infrastructure, financed by the Recovery and Sustainability Mechanism of the European Union.

The project is focused on the C2.I2 investment to increase the innovation capacity of BAS in the field of green and digital technologies, as part of Component 2 "Research and Innovation" of the National Plan for Recovery and Sustainability of the Republic of Bulgaria.

With a focus on innovation, the project will provide the necessary support for the Institute, which will contribute to the development of research and innovation at a high level, both nationally and internationally. The project proposal covers construction and repair activities and the purchase of new equipment and technologies. This includes internal renovation of laboratories, offices, and seminar rooms. Furthermore, an improvement of the internal microclimate and working conditions for researchers.

The key component of the project is the investment in modernized working premises, new equipment, and technologies that will support scientific research in the field of green and digital technologies and facilitate the development of new products and technologies capable of responding to contemporary societal challenges. The expected result is an improvement of the infrastructure at the Institute, which will contribute to increasing innovation and cooperation between the academic and economic sectors, thus supporting the economic transition to green and digital technologies.

The project also aims to provide an environment for sustainable development and help increase Bulgaria's competitiveness in the field of scientific research and innovation.
