Candidates for the position of director of an independent scientific unit (according to Art. 42, para. 1 of the Statute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences) may be habilitated scientists, doctors of sciences, corresponding members (corresponding members) or academicians (full members), who are appointed on the basis of choosing a main job in the independent scientific unit.
The documents for participation in the procedure are: an application to the BAS Governing Board, a scientific CV according to a sample questionnaire, a list of scientific works, a list of citations, a list of patents and copyright certificates, documents for implemented scientific and applied developments, copies of higher education diplomas, scientific degrees and academic positions, the candidate's program for the management and development of the academic unit, a declaration of cooperation of the State Security structures, other documents at the candidate's discretion.
Deadline for submitting documents: September 2, 2026
Documents are submitted in electronic format and on paper in triplicate to the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences,
15 November Str., Office of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences-A, Room 116, Tel. 979 5203 from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 16:00.
