On December 7–8, 2024, the XXVII Winter Seminar was held at the BAS Creative House in the town of Koprivshtitsa, organized by the Institute of Solid State Physics – BAS.
The seminar brought together young scientists and PhD students actively working in the fields of physical and interdisciplinary sciences.

During the two-day conference, a series of lectures were delivered by leading researchers from various institutes of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, presenting the latest advancements in modern physics. Among the lecturers were scientists from the Institute of Solid State Physics:

  • "Prototype of an alcohol breath analyzer based on a quartz crystal microbalance functionalized with a metal–phenolic layer", Assoc. Prof. Dr. Karekin Esmeryan (ISSP–BAS)
  • "Modern challenges and perspectives for high power applications of superconducting materials", Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krastyo Buchkov (ISSP–BAS)
  • "Development of a Direct Air Capture Technology for Carbon Dioxide Using Biological and Non-Biological Membranes (mDAC4)", Assoc. Prof. Dr. Georgi Yankov (ISSP–BAS)

In oral presentations, young researchers presented their projects, applied methodologies, results, and challenges. All participants received certificates issued by the Training Centre of BAS for their active participation.
