Спектрофотометърът Lambda1050 (Perkin Elmer) обхваща ултравиолетовата (UV), видимата (VIS) и близката инфрачервена (NIR) спектрални области. Предназначен е за прецизни измервания на оптичните характеристики на течности, светоделители, високоотразяващи, антиотразяващи, селективноотразяващи и други тънкослойни покрития върху различни видове подложки. Стандартната оптика за трансмисионни спектри включва деполяризация на нежелани поляризационни ефекти в лъчите на двата канала. Налични са и лесно сменяеми приставки за регистрация на спектри на огледално отражение (URA), а също и на разсеяно излъчване (интегрална сфера). Има възможност за поляризационни измервания.

Доокомплектована е със спектрофотометрична лаборатория, осигуряваща оптичното характеризиране на получените образци в спектрален интервал от 0.2 мкм до 300 мкм с прецизна апаратура от най-висок клас:

Спектрометърът с Фурие-преобразувание Vertex 70 (Bruker) е от най-висок клас. Приставките и поляризаторите, с които е доокомплектован, дават възможност за измерване на спектрални характеристики на повърхности, тънки слоеве, течни и прахообразни проби.
Регистрацията на спектри в Терахерцовия диапазон – областта на вибрационните честоти на кристалните фонони и гигантските био-комплекси, прави лабораторията единствена в България.
